The following information will provide you with details to assist you in making your hotel reservations and travel arrangements for the 2017 Grand Lodge Convention in Reno. Please read this information in its entirety and then proceed to the hotel booking page from the link on the left menu. 

The 2017 Grand Lodge Convention will be held in Reno, Nevada July 16-19, 2017. The Florida delegation hotel is the Silver Legacy Resort & Casino located at 407 North Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89501.

All attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements and all hotel reservations for the Silver Legacy Resort & Casino must be made directly with the hotel. You may do this by phone or online at our website, The room rate is $137.07 per night (includes taxes & resort fee).

The cutoff date for reservations is June 13, 2017 or when our 180 rooms are sold out.

Our hotel is located about six miles (a 12-minute drive) from the convention center; therefore, the Grand Lodge will operate buses from our hotel.

There will be several other states co-located with us in the Silver Legacy including our sister states of Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi.

Attendees will want to plan to arrive in Reno by Saturday, July 15th as the Opening Ceremonies begin on Sunday at 3:00 pm. Exalted Rulers and Alternate Delegates are required to attend the opening ceremonies. The final session of the convention will end at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Hotel check-in is 3:00 p.m. and checkout is 11:00 a.m.

If you drive or rent a car, complimentary parking will be available at the Silver Legacy.

Airline discounts are being offered through the Grand Lodge and will be posted on the Grand Lodge website.

Most major car rental counters are located on-site at the Reno airport. The airport is located about 4 miles (10 minutes) from the Silver Legacy. Enterprise has an on-site rental counter at the Silver Legacy.

The Silver Legacy operates a complimentary hotel shuttle to and from the airport. It can be met at the north exit of the baggage claim area at the airport and in the valet area outside the Silver Legacy lobby. It departs the Silver Legacy every 30 minutes starting at 5:00 a.m. and the last pickup at the airport is at 11:45 p.m.

Attendees will want to do their Grand Lodge Registration on the Grand Lodge Website at The online registration is only $50.00. Upon your arrival in Reno, you will need to catch a convention shuttle bus from the Silver Legacy to the Reno-Sparks Convention Center to obtain your voting credentials and badge. The registration schedule is as follows:

Saturday, July 15 – 8:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.          Monday, July 17 – 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Sunday, July 16 – 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.             Tuesday, July 18 – 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The convention registration fee paid on-site to Grand Lodge is $60.00 for Elks members only. There is no fee for Non-Elks registering with an Elks member. Your name badge is required to gain entry to all meetings and your voting credentials are required to be in your possession to be able to vote during the legislative session.

The official Grand Lodge Opening Ceremonies will be held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center on Sunday, July 16th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Members and accompanied guests are encouraged to attend. Florida attendees are encouraged to wear orange jackets/shirts to the sessions of the Grand Lodge and to sit in the area designated for the Florida delegation starting Monday. Also, be reminded that all Exalted Rulers or Lodge Representatives are required to check-in with their Endorsed District Deputy prior to the beginning of each official Grand Lodge session.

Louisiana State Legislature Increases New Orleans Hotel Occupancy Tax

The Legislature of the State of Louisiana has acted to increase the New Orleans Hotel Occupancy Tax from 13% to 14.75% effective April 1, 2014. This will affect our convention room rates and they will go from $128.56 to $130.52 per night.

Convention Attendees With ADA Transportation Needs Urged To Contact Grand Lodge

In order for the Grand Lodge to support the transportation needs of attendees with disabilities you are urged to contact the Grand Lodge if you require special assistance. Special coaches capable of kneeling to accommodate wheel chairs will be placed along the routes for those in need.
