Merritt Island Lodge once again held the Santa’s Boot Strap program. On Dec. 10, members came together to help make the holiday season a bit brighter for 72 families. More than volunteers packed bins, boxes and bags with enough food to last each family a couple of weeks. Lodge funds are used to purchase the food.

On Oct. 15 at Merritt Island Elks Lodge #2650, members held a trunk-or-treat Halloween party for local residents. It was a great way to introduce locals to the neighborhood Elks lodge. Members decorated 10 cars with Halloween scenes to delight the neighborhood kids and their parents. Each car was also fully supplied with candy for all the young visitors.
