On Sept. 20, members of Sebastian Elks Lodge #2714 donated more than $500 worth of school supplies to Fellsmere Elementary School.

On Aug. 9, the Viera Elks Lodge’s Antlers members served dinner at the State President’s visit to the Southeast Central District. In addition, they presented State President Joe Cooper with a $300 donation for the Harry-Anna Trust Fund from their charity fund. The Antlers also stayed busy during the summer holding several car washes at different venues as a part of the summer charity challenge to benefit the Brevard Homeless Coalition. They raised $1,284. On Aug. 26, they prepared, served and cleaned up from the entire meal at the lodge.

On Aug. 8, Port St. Lucie Lodge used its $2,000 Elks National Foundation Beacon Grant to purchase food for Grace Packs of Port St. Lucie, Florida. The food items were distributed to 803 children in St. Lucie County who otherwise would not have enough to eat over the weekends.

Vero Beach Lodge held its 13th annual Father’s Day car show June 16. Due to inclement weather, they had less cars than expected but ended up with 85 vehicles. The event had a lot of attendees and raised $3,600 for veterans’ assistance in the county. Approximately 20 people assisted with the event. Over the years, the shows have raised about $50,000. The lodge held an open house as well, promoting memberships and offering food and beverages.

On May 21, members of the Port St. Lucie Elks Lodge Motorcycle Riders Club attended an event ride to honor fallen police officers and bring community awareness. Hundreds of motorcycles participated in the event, which began and ended at Clover Park, home of the New York Mets summer training venue in Port St. Lucie, Florida. It took more than 2 hours to ride 100 miles, passing all the local police stations and state troopers barracks. The event was hosted by the Blue Angels Motorcycle Club.
