An important role of the Exalted Ruler is to recognize your Lodge's programs and members for their accomplishments. The first step in doing this is to learn your employees/volunteers strengths.

Ideas
Deciding whether to publically or privately recognize an employee or volunteer is part of the process. Here are some ideas for both methods:
- Recognize a member individually, not just their committee.
- Collectively recognize a group or committee of members. Involve the BOD or chairmen to recognize these achievements, too!
- Public recognition goes a long way! Take advantage at meetings, events, and fundraisers.
- Show your appreciation with printed certificates or awards.
- Write them a personal note.
- Write to the FSEA or Grand Lodge about their achievements.
- Frame and display their awards or certificates in the Lodge's common areas.
- Submit an article for publication in our quarterly FEN Magazine.
- Recognize them in your Lodge's Bulletin.
- Recognize them in an email blast to your members.
82% of employees think it’s better to give someone praise than a gift.*
