AED Project

Overview

A statewide initiative to equip every Florida Elks Lodge with at least one Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and ensure members are trained and ready to use it β€” by March 31, 2026.

This project is about more than purchasing equipment. It’s about readiness and training. Lodges are encouraged to host AED and Hands-Only CPR sessions for officers, bartenders, volunteers, and members.

Why This Matters

  • Sudden cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in the U.S.
  • Over 356,000 cardiac arrests occur outside hospitals each year.
  • Survival drops 7–10% every minute without CPR or defibrillation.
  • Early CPR and AED use can raise survival rates to as high as 70%.

β€œTime is muscle. Time is brain.” When every second counts, readiness saves lives.
