Anthony J. "Tony" ImpellizzeriWe regret to inform our members of the passing of Anthony J. "Tony" Impellizzeri from Miami #948. Tony passed away suddenly on Friday, July 4, 2025. Born in Antillo, Sicily, the son of Mario Carmello and Maria (Smiroldo) Impellizzeri, the family immigrated to the United States in 1954 and settled in Albany, NY.

He graduated from Albany High School in 1967 and Hudson Valley Community College in 1969 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Following graduation, he served in the US Navy, married his wife, Jody Harris and they celebrated 55 years of marriage on September 27, 2024.

Tony worked as a Senate Shop Foreman in NY State. A man of many talents, his passions were his family, carpentry, golf, chess, hunting, fishing, coaching and bowling where he earned more perfect "300" game rings then his fingers could hold. His retirement years were spent in Cutler Bay, Florida with Jody where he enjoyed his life as a Trustee at the Elks' Miami Lodge #948, the President of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America Lodge #276 Isola Salina and an active member of Christ The King Lutheran Church.

Tony's smile and personality were larger than life. He would greet you like a long-lost friend and never hesitate to offer his help or advice. Life with Tony was an adventure and he had a gift for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Frank. He leaves behind his wife Jody, his brother, Joseph, daughter, Wendi Cowden, son, John Impellizzeri (Kelly), son, Mark Impellizzeri (Michelle), three grandchildren, Nicolas Impellizzeri, Kelsey Cowden, Maximus Impellizzeri, sister-in-law Susan Impellizzeri, Julie Holland (Gregg), Page Myers (Steve) and many nephews and nieces.

A church service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Christ The King Lutheran Church at 11295 SW 57th Avenue, Miami, FL 33156 with interment immediately following at Miami Memorial Park, 6200 SW 77 Avenue, Miami, FL 33143. Those who wish to remember Tony in a special way may contribute in his memory to St. Jude or Christ The King Lutheran Church.
