Central Regional Soccer Shoot Hosted by Merritt Island Lodge

The Central regional Soccer Shoot was held Dec. 4 in Merritt Island, Florida. Participants were U8-U16 age group winners from the East Central, Southwest Central and West Central districts. Pat Hubert, PER, State Soccer Shoot Chair, is pictured with them at Merritt Island Lodge.
DeLand Lodge PER Association Golf Tournament Raises $16,000 for Scholarships

The Past Exalted Rulers Association of DeLand Elks Lodge #1463 held its annual golf tournament Oct. 23 at Pelican Bay in South Daytona, Florida. The association raised more than $16,000 to use for scholarships for high school seniors in the upcoming year. Money was raised from hole sponsors and foursomes participating in the event. There was an awards ceremony and lunch following the tournament at the lodge. Pictured are Gary Hand; Paulette Hand; Bill Grumhaus, trustee; and Beth Grumhaus, Esteemed Lecturing Knight. DeLand Lodge Hosts Trunk-or-Treat Again this Year for Community Children

DeLand Elks Lodge #1463 participated in a community Halloween trunk-or-treat drive-through event at the lodge Oct. 30. Lodge members served candy to more than 400 children and parents between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Two other community businesses participated as well and passed out candy.

Palm Coast Lodge Volunteers as Football Chain Crew for Local High School

For the past four years, a team of Palm Coast Elks Lodge members has volunteered as the football chain crew at Matanzas High School in Palm Coast. The crew is mentioned at every halftime and thanked by the booth announcer over the loudspeaker. DeLand Lodge Raises Funds for Louisiana Lodges Hit by Hurricane Ida

In September, DeLand Elks Lodge #1463 donated $1,500 through member donations to Louisiana lodges Slidell #2321 and New Orleans – West Bank #2496, which were affected by Hurricane Ida in late August. Laura Jones, Esteemed Loyal Knight (pictured above), spearheaded the project to assist those lodges during this disaster.
