On Oct. 29, Eustis Elks Lodge’s Drug Awareness Chair, David Roche, a retired Deputy Sheriff, was invited to Tavares Elementary School to put on Red Ribbon presentations to the third, fourth and fifth grade classes. He made three presentations to more than 300 students, explaining the history of the Red Ribbon program, giving each child a ribbon obtained locally, Elks coloring books, Eustis pencils, and more. The presentation also covered the Elks Drug Awareness poster contest, Hoop Shoot and Soccer Shoot.
