On March 15, Bradenton Elks Lodge #1511 honored several local first responders with the Elks medal of honor. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office nominated Sgt. Brett Getman for his heroic actions in saving a drowning person. The Bradenton Police Department nominated Lt. Shannon Seymour, Officer Richard Coachman and Officer Jack Stapleton for their lifesaving efforts following a shooting. Seventeen members from both agencies attended the event and enjoyed lunch provided by the lodge.
