Lake Okeechobee Elks Lodge #2871 held a public Flag Day celebration in Okeechobee City's Memorial Park. The lodge officers were assisted by the JROTC Brahman Battalion for the flag ceremony.
Jupiter Lodge donated $1,000 to Boy Scout Troop 109 so they could travel to Virginia to attend summer camp at Camp Powhatan. The scouts collectively earned 26 merit badges.
From April to June, Clewiston Elks Lodge #1853 hosted three quarter auctions, each benefiting a worthy cause in the local community – one for autism, one for a 13-year-old boy with Scoliosis and one for a family who experienced a car accident.
West Palm Beach Elks Lodge #1352 hosted the Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization Valentine dance that was well attended and the lodge presented them with a check for $1,000 to help their cause.
Using the Elks National Foundation Beacon Grant, Jupiter Lodge hosted a Shoot-2-B-Drug-Free event to promote drug awareness in the community. The rally included a basketball shoot-off. More than 200 were in attendance including 150 kids. The event took place at the Riviera Beach Parks and Rec.
