
In November and December, Green Cove Springs Lodge held a food drive for Green Cove Springs Food Pantry and an angel tree gift drive to support Quigley House, a local women's crisis center. The lodge collected more than 300 gifts for local families and 550 pounds of food. The items were presented to the organizations Dec. 18.

St. Augustine Elks Lodge #829 held its third annual Jeep Show Oct. 27 with a trunk or treat for kids. There were decorated Jeeps, Halloween decorations, pumpkins for painting and lots of candy. The event raised $2,650 for two local Title 1 Saint Johns County elementary schools.

On Dec. 7, St. Augustine held its annual Christmas parade. The day is also designated PAL Day, which allows the city to show appreciation for active military members and first responders with free admission to local attractions and lunch provided by St. Augustine Lodge, which served approximately 50 guests and delivered 17 meals to veterans living in Veterans Village.

On Dec. 14, St. Augustine Lodge held a Christmas party for clients of The ARC of Saint Augustine. The ARC promotes and protects the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. There were approximately 150 attendees. Everyone had pizza and cookies and a gift from Santa. There was music and dancing, too.

On Nov. 5, Green Cove Springs Elks Lodge #1892 donated $2,000 to help with the care of the Green Cove Springs Police Department's new therapy dog, Princess Leia, who came from K9s for Warriors.
